EYELEVEL Creative, a digital visualisation consultancy based in Newcastle, are set to revolutionise the architecture industry by launching a new pioneering augmented reality app, EYEVIEW, after securing investment from the Finance for Business North East Angel Fund.
Neil Clark, Managing Director at EYELEVEL Creative, explained how the launch of the app was aided by investment from the North East Angel Fund, “EYEVIEW is the culmination of all our experience in the industry and we really believe that it is the perfect solution to a time consuming and relatively expensive process involved in modern architecture and planning. The professional support from Rivers Capital has helped us to seamlessly transfer all of our expertise into what is a relatively new format for the architectural industry.”
Dr Michael Dickens, Fund Manager at Rivers Capital, said “EYELEVEL Creative have an innovative and ingenious product that perfectly blends their professional experience and the latest technology to redefine the way design processes are pursued in their industry. More importantly, their team are dedicated and focussed, which is what really attracted us to working with them.”
The company, which specialises in creating high quality photorealistic computer generated images for the design and property industries, has used the investment acquired through fund managers Rivers Capital Partners to launch their new app, which will be available to download from the App Store in September. In the meantime, the app is available to beta test by contacting EYELEVEL Creative.
EYELEVEL Creative produce high quality images that show what a building will look like before construction. The company use specialised techniques known as Accurate Visual Representation to reliably create the most accurate and realistic computer generated images available.
The company has produced images for an Olympic Pavilion in London, the Toffee Factory in Newcastle and for construction projects in Doha, Malaysia and further afield.
More recently EYELEVEL Creative have created the images for the Stephenson Quarter development in Newcastle which have been displayed on the protecting hoardings of the Crowne Plaza Newcastle during the building phase.
Now, the highly skilled team are using their experience to create a new, cost effective service for architects and planners. EYEVIEW is an augmented reality app which allows designers to see what their planned buildings will look like on-site and in real time.
By holding up their iPad at location, users can see 3D models of architectural designs superimposed onto the construction site or building currently occupying the space. This allows professionals to view scale images of their proposals from any position on the ground.
Utilising multiple viewpoints, this allows an invaluable foresight of the impact planned developments will have on their surroundings and give industry experts an unprecedented sneak peak at how the finished building may look in its location.
Producing accurate 3D visualisations of projects is a vital part of the design and planning process and each image can up to 2 weeks to create. With large commercial planning applications requiring as many as 40 of these images from different viewpoints, image costs for the average project can be many thousands of pounds. However, EYEVIEW now offers intuitive new technology allowing the process to be managed significantly faster and more cheaply.
